the band-aid

The way I see it, there are two ways to go about the bearing of bad news: you can avoid, dawdle and beat around the bush for great lengths of time and then maybe, eventually, mutter the unfortunate information under your breath, hoping the person you are talking to hears you, mostly so that you don't have to experience the discomfort of having to repeat it. You cling to the notion that this makes you appear selfless and protective. Heroic, even. You wonder why there have been no medals sent, why Barack Obama has not yet named a holiday weekend after you.

Or, you can simply rip off the Band-Aid.

Having recently experienced both methods of information delivery, I am finding myself squarely in Camp Band-Aid.

Johnson & Johnson couldn't have made it any simpler. Team band aid all the way!
